Himmel Haus

"Himmel Haus is a fantastic German restaurant. We stopped by on our way to Tahoe for a ski trip and ended up having a wonderful meal. The draft lager was excellent, very smooth and refreshing. We ordered the pork shank, beef shoulder, and the sausage platter, all served with traditional German pickles that balanced the richness of the dishes perfectly. The warm spinach salad was also quite unique and delicious. The restaurant itself is beautifully decorated, and even the servers wear adorable hunter-style hats, which adds a lot of charm. The atmosphere was cozy and lively, making the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a very satisfying dinner and a great surprise along the way. Highly recommend!"

"It’s the only German Restaurant out here in South Lake Tahoe, but don’t let that fool you. It’s also one of the best I’ve been to. The Schnitzels are all very tasty. We were are able to taste 4 different ones with their platter and none of them let us down. They also have a 7-day marinated beef shoulder that was very tender and the sweet and sour “gravy” they put on it, gave it such a satisfying flavor profile. Don’t forget to get the giant pretzel to share as well."

"The absolute BEST thing we got was the pork schnitzel with Jager sauce and spatzle. Highly recommend. Other things that were really good were the pretzel appetizer and the curry cauliflower appetizer. Service was great too. I would definitely give this place a try!"
